Troopers in New London County responded to a Stonington residence to help search for a missing man who suffers from Parkinson's disease at about 6:45 p.m. on Sunday, July 17, Connecticut State Police reported.

Police said K9 Zedo used a found baseball cap that belonged to the man to track him in the woods.

K9 Zedo walked along trails and followed the edge of a pond for hundreds of feet to a stonewall surrounded by grasses, authorities said.

State Police said the K9 then located the man on the side of the stonewall in heavy brush.

Troopers rendered aid to the man, as he was too weak to walk, police reported.

Authorities said the man was taken to a hospital for an evaluation.
